Debadging
I have a Wald Kit and a Wald Emblem with Wald wheels on the way (thats 5 w's in one sentence) I would like to debadge the "LS400" and the "Lexus" and possible the "L" as well. I went to the lexus dealership and they said they are attached the 3m tape and do NOT have pins holding them into place on the trunk. The guy said that if I just use fishing line and this solvent I can take the badges right off and it'll look clean and new. HOWEVER, he was not %100 that it was just tape. He asked someone who said it was tape but he still wasn't %100 sure. Before I go attempt to debage, can anyone confirm that its just tape with no pins? Thanks!

there are two holes under the lexus badge.....two under the lexus logo and four under the LS400 logo.....so in total you will have 8 holes on the trunk lid!! i know this because i just took my logos of last week to replace them with black pearl emblems!! and save some money and use dental flaus to remove the glue

What year is your LS?
Grand - so you debadged your 98? I've never thought about doing my LS, but my GS is just adhesive with no holes.

Does anyone have a pic of what the holes look like?
The back looks like:
[Lexus (L) LS400]
But I think i'm going to remove the "Lexus" and replace it with "WALD" so it'll look like:
[WALD (L) LS400]
and then either replace the L and LS with black pearl emblems so it'd be chrome wald and black L and LS400 or keep the stock emblems so it'll be all 3 chrome emblems. I wanted to remove the "LS400" but if there is holes I don't even wanna mess with that.

Ok I remember ya, I was at the uptown meet. Let's definitely get a spring meet in the works. I tried to line one up for this summer/fall but no one responded...you're right, it does take time.

Haha ooo ya the uptown meet, it was the first real CL meet in MN, only 5 cars though
Alot has changed since then though, I know one of the IS guys went turbo and theres a SC with wheels and one guy who had a very nice new GS430 with plans. I had big plans but no money, now i've got the parts in the garage just waiting for winter to end
The minnesota tuning scene needs a renaissance very badly. The show circuit is at a infantile stage at best. The biggest car show in Minnesota not only DIDN'T INCLUDE a Best Lexus or Best VW category but was won by a SLK230 with screens and a LV interior. It also really doesn't help that the MNSC guys do little more then squabble and **** start. In the entire club (from what i've seen) there are 15-20 awesome people and 100 douches. As soon as its warm i'm throwing my Wald Kit, grill, badges, wheels (assuming they arrive by then) and suspension on and i'm going to start entering car show. I hope to lead by example. I don't mean to come off as a elitist ***** but topics like "Who has the hairiest *****" isn’t what i’m looking for in a modding forum.
