Hello everyone,

I owned a 92 ES300 and has over 170K miles already. The car still runs very well. Very impressed with the car in term of its reliability. Coming Dec.10, 05 I am expecting my first born, and my wife suggests a bigger car. I'm determined to stick with Lexus so I've been looking at 98-00 LS400. So far 98 models seemed to be the best deal (am I right to say that 98-00 are essentially the same car?). Can any 98-00 LS owners give me some info in terms of winter handling (very important), reliability, and trouble spots on these models?

There is a lot of info on the 98-00 LS available if you search this and other Lexus forums. All I can say is that my 00 LS (with Blizzaks) handles heavy snow infinitely better than my previous 90 LS and substantially better than our V6 Camry with all season tires.

If you are starting a family and looking for a primary vehicle, I would suggest (don't laugh) a used Toyota Sienna van.

You won't believe how much stuff you have to carry when you have kids and the upkeep costs (maintenance, insurance) will be far less than an LS.
