Default 1992 LS 400 - Sagging front seats

The leather for my LS 400 is in pretty decent condition but the seats are both sagging. The deeper part of the seat where it meets the backrest sags the most.

Any idea if I can somehow tighten up the seat springs to reduce the sagging. Any sites out there showing how this is done. This must be a problem since the many folks are keeping LSs for a long time

Default Welcome to the forum suloh...

Your best bet would be to take in to an upholstery shop or a stereo shop that specializes in re-wrapping leather seats and have them re-stuff the sagging area with more or new foam.

Thanks. Funny thing is that it does not appear that the foam is gone (it might be a little worn). But it is as thought the spring support is weak. I had an old Volvo with such a problem and the suggestion was to tie up the weak springs with cable ties. For the Volvo it helps.

Anyone with a diagram of how the seat support is like

You can order the original Lexus foam which replaces the entire seat (NOT backrest) for about $170.00.

However, I wonder if it is difficult to do so. Any idea if there are any tutorials or directions on removing seat and removing upholstery.

Actually anyone that installed aftermarket leather seat covers would know what to do.

But again, for my case, I suspect that the spring is what is worn (are there springs??). Foam seems ok

Try lexus=parts.com (part of Sewell Lexus Delarship).
I emailed them for a quote

Shopping Cart
Qty Description
Unit Price
Amount
7151650041-PAD,FR SEAT CUSHION, $169.32 $169.32

To cancel a specific item, enter "0" for quantity
& select UPDATE ORDER. SUBTOTAL $169.32

If your seat foam bad, just change with factory part and your seat will be like brand new.

However, I think for my situation, it is the spring (are there any) that is weak.
