Default Warning lamp:Engine Oil Lamp, Catalyst Lamp, Radiator & Tail light lamp turning on.

I have a '90 Celsior with 170,000km & just noticed that the Engine Oil, Radiator, Catalyst & Tail Light warning lamp turned on at the same time for a few minutes then off. I have checked the oil, radiator & tail light & they're all fine. Anyone had a similar problem?

You might also want to the check the wiring harness that is strapped to the drivers side trunk hinge. Just pop the trunk and check all the wires there to make sure that none of them are broken. My car had this same problem, with most of the warning lights coming on and the transmission shifting roughly too. I found that this problem was posted in these forums before and I did have a wire that was broken. I spliced the wires together and have not had this problem since then...(going on two years now).

Most likely it is the alternator, but it could also be the serpentine belt that drives the alternator. Check the belt, and the tension on it. Slippage can case the lights to show as well, because the alternator is not functioning, as it is not turning.

yup its the alternator alright! it not charging while engine is running. would it be better for me to get it new or reconditioned (exchange)? does it cost a lot to replace? thanks for all your replies.

Default alternator

I finally took my car to get the alternator fix but my mechanic is having trouble finding the part. Does anyone know if its fully compatible with 1990 LS400 part number?

Unhappy sc400 rear break light socket

Brake light bulb lights up when I replace it with a new bulb and the lights are turned on but as soon as I step on the brake, the light out icon comes on and the light doesnt light anymore. When I check the light, I find it isn't bad, so I take it out, reinsert it and the process starts all over again. Any thoughts?

90-94 are identical when it came to the engine.

Ok finally got it fix and its only the regulator that need replacing which only cost me less than AU$100. According to my mechanic the alternator of Celsior is different from normal LS400 of the same year. I will post a photo of the regulator soon.
