Default How to Drain Evaporator \ AC hose?

Hello,

I'm a newbie here. I purchased a 91 LS400 in June. I'm not very mechanical, but thanks to some helpful postings I managed to replace the rear air struts on my own (last week) and the car is driving smooth.

Yesterday, I noticed a sloshing sound like water coming from under the glove box area. It isn't noticable until I turn or stop\accelarate quickly. After further inspection, I discovered the passenger side footwell is soaking wet with cold water. It's dripping down below the glove box. I've done many, many searches and have found some useful info on the boards. It appears I need to drain the Evaporator \ AC hose based upon what I've read.

Does anyone have step by step instructions on how to do this? Where exactly is the hose located? Any info, pictures, guides, etc. would be great and most appreciated. Like I said, I’m not great with cars but can’t afford to take it to the shop right now after buying new struts last week.

Thanks,
BG

Default Drain evaporator tray

If you lift the hood and look on the passenger side of the car up at the fire wall half way down you will see a black hose sticking out pointing toward the ground.......that is the evaporator hose.......you can try using a coat hanger to free up anything that has the hose blocked from the inside.........I just changed my evaporator about a month ago so I can say that hose is only about four or five inchs long and it comes right out of the botton of the tray that the evaporator sits in.
Good luck........if you have anymore questions please email me at (jjchantilly@yahoo.com) because I don't be on this site all the time but I do check my email everyday.

Sorry, I've been away for a few days so I'm just getting a chance to post. Yes, I was able to solve the problem.

I tried using a coat hanger, but no luck. I took it to a gas station around the corner and used their air hose. After the second shot of air into the drain hose, cold water rushed out. I guess something had gotten in the line. Anway, it water gushed out for a couple of minutes.

Problem solved. Thanks again for your help.
