I am doing a fill myself with r12a from www.redtek.com

Where exactly do I screw it into? the blue or red port?

Any tips or advice would be appreciated!

If you dont have any knowledge on hvac you have no business buying or touching r12a or any other refrigerant.

Take it to a professional that can service it correctly, with the correct equipment, and not contribute to green house effect.

Its a very small task, you dont need a degree to add R12a. You think he's asking because he doesnt know what he's doing, but in fact, there are two identical ports you can plug the wire into, the low, and high pressure. Sometimes they arent marked correctly, and you have to ask which is which.

But you arent allowed to even buy r12 without a cert.

And there is a reason it is low on r-12, and you should find it.

True about r12... but If you had read my original post thoroughly you would have noted the r12A . and the website www.redtek.ca

My car has already been retrofitted with r134a, but it has a slow leak. I will top up with the environmentally friendly r12a which is compatible with both r12 and r134a systems.

I have my answer on the low port now - thank you


Does anyone know the effects of mixing r12a and r134a??

Well if you would of read www.redtek.ca throughly you would of noticed that r12A! and r134a operate at different pressures and has different boiling points. In other words dont do it. You would have pressures that do not match with saturation temps and so on.

So I filled it and it is now ICE ICE COLD

I used the www.redtek.com r12a! So far so good after 2 hours lol... hopefully it'll last.

I checked the pressure before filling it with the guage and system was empty so its all good.
