I have a 96 LS400, and everytime I shift the LS into Reverse or Drive it jerks the car in the directions of the gear. The LS would jerk at idling speed 1100rpm through 600rpm. I was wandering if theres away to solve the hard jerk in the shifting. Maybe adjusting the throttling cable?

Sounds like the transmission mount is gone...does it jerk as soon as you put it into reverse or drive?

Thanks for the reply. Yes, it does jerk as soon as its in Reverse or into Drive. I tried adjusting the throttling cable, Cruise control cable, and transmission cable. Adjusting them didn't help.

Hmmmm...I'm willing to bet it's the mounts. Have your mechanic check all of them out, especially the transmission mounts.
