I have a 93 ls with 190k. It started with the battery light on. Dealer said alternator. I took it home and got it bench tested at Autozone, it was ok. The harness was a little crumbled so I replaced the harness with a tested one from a salvage yard. The battery light still comes on. When the battery is disconnected the car cuts off. Any ideas? This is probably a beaten horse but is you can point me that would be great.

I tried a new alternator and it had the same reading. That is what made me take the core back to get tested before I returned it. It came back good. Should I get it retested?

wiring problem, like a bad ground or bad harness.

Hey, did you ever get this problem solved? I'm having the same problem with a SC400.

Yes I did. The harness went bad. I had to replace it and reground.
