Default Help Boot leg cds wont play in my 95 LS400

Its seems like bootleg cd give me problems in my changer. When I hit the brakes or turn left or right I get alot of static and then it stop playing. Is that what the problem is or is something wrong with my cd changer? I seems to play alot better with the orginal cd. Help

It's most likely the quality of the bootleg CD and not your CD changer. Any idea what brand they are?

So this only happens with burned CD's? If yes, then you should try to get some high quality stuff.

Does the boot leg play in your other players?

I burn discs regularly and unless there was a burn problem or bad disc, they work in mine. YMMV of course.

It is very possible that your changer is going bad. I burn a lot of CD's and in the past they would play with no problem. Now sometimes they don't play at all. Only the orginal CD's play good well at least sometimes.
Actually, when I buy brand new CD's the 1st or 2nd track skips and sounds like its scratched. I've come to the conclusion that it's time to replace the entire system. It's about ten years old!

I have a problem with weird scratchy-skippy sounds when I play memorex CDRs. This happened in my former 99 GS, and also with my 98 LS. I think it's the pioneer player.

Sounds like changing the CD would be the first thing to try.

I had that problem at first with cd's in my Pioneer system in my '99. I was told the solution is to buy the best CD's, which I found was good advice. Memorex sounded like a vinyl LP would sound with a cat fur-ball under the needle, the TDK's were better but still not acceptable.

However, Sony's work just fine (they are also the most expensive). I don't know if its relevant, but they are very darkly colored.

I am not condoning illegal bootlegging - I put some of my records on CD to listen to in the car.

I had the same problem when using Memorex CD-Rs. Never had any problems after I switched to TDK Music CD-Rs.

I've noticed the same thing too. It seems like the darker colored ones read a lot better than the lighter/translucent ones.

Yup, Black CDR's seem to last much longer.

I use to burn CD-Rs a lot for my MP3 CD Player. I use to use Taiyo Yuden CD-Rs. They are known to be the best CD-Rs. This company created the CD-R. When using these CD-Rs I never had a problem. Also it could be the burn speed that causes the bad CD-Rs. I recommend burning at below 24x if possible. I usually burn at 12x or slower if I have the time.

By the way I believe you can get Taiyo Yuden CD-Rs for cheap on eBay.
