Since you are putting the identical embelms back on but different color removing all the residue may not be tottally neccessary because it will help you with knowing where to put the new emblems

Depending on the year you might have some prongs to deal with. the gen1 had prongs wth rubber inserts in addition to the adhesive. To get all the adhesive off use rubbing alcohol, a rag, and some elbow grease.
