Default Replace Swaybar Bushings

Hi, I have a 98 LS and I get clunking noise in my front passenger side. I think (hope ) it is my swaybar bushings because they seem to be the least $ to replace. The noise is not bad but annoying. Hase anyone replaced these, and is it hard? From my inspection the bushings don't loofk to bad but there is a little deterioration in the rubber. If someone has the service directions I would be very thankful. Mark

What mileage are you at?

This may also it may be the strut bars.

Just priced this, the strut bars are about $100 each and you'll need two. $140 to install and $70 for an alignment.

If it is the A-ram bushings, it's going to add up.

I have 59k , Seems like low mileage for control arms but who knows. I am going to check the lower ball joints. I am going to raise the car and put a stand under the body to have the wheel all the way down then raise the wheel up and down to see if there is any play in the ball joint. Does this sound right to check them? Hey RA40, I have the service directions for RR the strut rods and it looks involved . I thought you could just replace the cushions whithout replaceing the rods. Do you know of anyone who has done the strut rods? Thanks for posting M

Default ball joints and bushings

I have a '94 LS400 with 65K on it. I just had to replace the lower ball joints and the sway bar bushings.
I was surprised to have to do all that at such low mileage! The bushings were causing a loud 'squeak' when going over speed bumps, etc.
This car's always been maintained and I don't think these things should be going out already.

I think 10-12 years is pretty good for bushings. Remember, they are rubber, and rubber dries up and cracks overtime.
