Default Display Error Question?

I have a 98 LS 400, and the display says low washer fluid, but the reservoir is full. The message taillamp failure comes up, but all the lights are on now? Any Suggestions?

Relative to the Taillight Out Warning , see my last post on "Dead Climate Control System".

That box basically works like the GFCI that you have in your bathroom and kitchen, it reads current going through it, and if not to spec, it lights up. Check all of the lights, make sure they are the right wattage. If they are not, they still light, but will trigger the sensor. Look for dimmer, unbalanced lights (left vs. right).

On the Low Washer situation, see if the Float on the Sensor is stuck.

Have you changed bulbs recently? Some domestic brand bulbs will trip the message center, even when its working.

So as my friend Chuck mentioned, check for any dim bulbs and replace with a high quality one, and you should be fine.

Bulbs are pretty well standardized throughout the world as the LS400's roam free (however, I have yet to see a foreign dignitary to pull up to a meeting in one, aside from Bill Gates).

Most bulbs are manufactured in the same plant overseas, and rebranded. I got the #921 for the third light at Drug Fair (a Walgreens wannabe up here).

Check for the obvious first, then delve into the unknown.

To get to the outer tail lights, or the third light, post, I will walk you through it.
