Default replace a/c filter

I get this message when I start my ls 430. I asked a local dealer what the replacement cost was and they said 175 dollars. I talked to lexus-parts.com and its like 30 dollars for the part and it looks as though I could install it myself. can someone confirm that this is the part I need?

87139-YZZ01 - Filter Cabin

if it is then fine but if not would someone please tell me the correct part number and price?

TIA

Seems to be the correct part #. Don't let them touch your car for that price IMO!!
$24 plus shipping from here.

Smile A/C Filter

The filter is easy to replace i just did mines at 55,000 miles. You can to its easy, look in your owners manual and they take you threw step by step. Just buy the filter and do it your self. Im not handy at all and i did it in 3 minutes maybe less. $175 is a joke thats to much. You can buy from the dealer or an auto parts store. I always buy from the dealer but most car people buy from auto parts stores i hear its cheaper. LOVE GOD NOT MONEY.

Also, just in case you don't know. It's located right behind your glove box. Open it and you'll see a door that you have to remove. Remove the door and pull out the tray with the filter and pop in the new one. It's pretty straight forward.

After you replace it you have to reset the code on your dash. With the car idling hold down the main "OFF" button on your climate control panel for a few seconds. The panel will say "A/C Filter Reset" and you should hear a chime to confirm it reset.

I just bought my car CPO with 51,000 miles. My A/C filter warning light came on, but when i checked the filter, it looks clean and new (but is a charcoal color?) What should the filter look like? It seems like the dealer replaced the filter but forgot to reset the warning.

The filter element is a charcoal color so you're good to go, just reset it.

thanks sharpls. you gave me/us another option for parts at reasonable prices. lexus-parts.com is still viable though.

got mine today and installed and reset as directed. I just wish there was a way to set the fan speed to auto and have the air come out of the upper vents instead of the footwell. also it seems to make a noise in the glove box when the climate modes are changed. overall though it was a good cost savings. also I should note that the filter replaced was uncredibly dirty. I mean dirt and pine needles came out of it when I took it out. and it was darker than the replacement filter I put in.
