New Shocks and ride quality is rough
I have a 94' LS400 and recently got H&R lowering springs and KYB gr-2 struts installed and replaced my upper and lower front bushings with Daizen bushings. Everything else is stock including the tires.
My complaint is that the ride quality appears to have degraded quite a bit and now I can feel every bump. Which compontent(s) is causing this rough ride?

Welcome to CL!
I have some KYB GR-2's on another car and these feel just a hair firmer than the factory units and is hardly noticable. My suspicion is the H&R springs...if you can feel every road variation, I'd be wondering of you got the right springs. How much did it come down?

Ride Height
Front: 26.25 - one finger gap between stock tires and frame.
Rear: 26.75 - about 1 1/2 finger gap
When I push on the front there is practicaly no give. When I push on the rear it goes down a couple of inches.

How many miles have you put on this new set-up? When I put new shock in my Sebring Convertibal years ago it road really ruff for a couple of days then settled down to a smooth ride.
When I replaced the shocks in my 91 LS 2 years ago it didnt ride ruff but not as smooth as it did after a couple of days.
If you have already put say 200 miles the nit should be setteld.

hello, ive put kyb on mine with stock springs the resulting ride was a little stiif due to the fact that kyb is like 10-15 % stiffer than OEM struts even though kyb makes the OEM struts for toyota/lexus, in your situation kybs coupled that with lowering springs and poly bushings thats the down side of that but performance wise you get something that stock configuration cant, like cornering, like the saying you gain some you lose some, in any ways you just got to get used to it, now am back to stock spings and struts,

Re: Ra40
How jarring a ride would you say you now have?
There is no play in the front end (When I push with my body weight the hood barely goes down if any), I think its always been that way since I got them installed. Did they install bad shocks or the wrong ones? How much play do you have on your front end?
