Default Airborne debris hit my '98 LS

I was traveling down I-85 south to Charlotte, NC this past weekend when a piece of a tractor trailer tire got airborne and hit the front end of my car. The passenger side headlight and the bumper are heavily damaged. There are black marks all over the hood. The car ahead of me hit the tire first and got it flying towards me. It hit a couple of vehicles behind me as well and sent one vehicle's bumper flying in the air. The bumper-to-bumper traffic was moving at around 70 mph and there was no place to dodge the debris. Needless to say I am pissed! The damage is estimated at $3500 and I am responsible for the $500 deductible and the rental car. However, all the bulbs are still working! I guess I should salvage the HID bulb when they replace the entire headlight assembly.

Try to get your insurance company to replace both headlights, or it will looks weird with one new, and one fairly used..... kidna gives the message that the car has been in some sort of an accident.

Sorry to hear about this, i would be pisssssssssssed off.

YOu mentioned: "Black marks all over the hood." I suggest you try to buff it out. Most tire marks look awful but can easily be buffed out leaving little to no damage. So pick up some 3M Medium Cut Compound or Light if your car is a dark color and give it a shot, you never know...
