Red face Hit Head on in my '95 LS400... totaled the car

Making a left out of a suicide land, a nissan sentra hit me head on from my right side as the driver tried to beat traffic. Airbags deployed, and my good old friend ('95 LS400) absorbed the blow. The front end of the LS caved in... the nissan was still in tact, but the driver with no airbag had the wind knocked out and taken away in an ambulance.

No injuries to me. I bruised my hands bench pressing the steering wheel. Sadly, my LS at 130,000 miles is sent to the scrapyard.

After this experience, I will buy another, and another, and another. These cars are incredible.

I was lucky, but I do NOT discount driving this great car designed to save the passenger.

Long live the LS series!!

Sorry to hear about your LS, but the good news is that you're OK.
Now you can upgrade to a newer LS

Glad to hear you walked away intact, that's all that matters as you know. The LS's crumble zone was designed not to impede into the cabin so it worked once again.

Good luck in purchasing your next LS!

Ok this is wierd two LS accident post in one day.

Wow glad to hear your ok. I wrecked my 91 and because of how well it held up I bought my 98 and could not be happier. If your safe thats all that matters. Sometime these things happenf for a reason. At least you will probably end up in a newer LS.

Great to hear your OK !

Hey I just read in your other post you were wondering what the market price was on a 98 or newer LS was. Well I have access to the Manheim Auctions transaction nationwide. I can tell you every car that was sold thru one of their auction in the last month. So I just now quickly put together for you what the 1998 thru 2000 LS and the 01 and 02 LS430 sold for. This is a DEALER only auction. So all of these cars were bought by dealer with the sole intention of selling them on their lots to the public. So with that add $3,000 to the final price or more as their profit. The point is these prices are also considered the fair "Market" value of the car. Meaning if you were a private person and looked to sell a LS this is about what you would expect to sell it for or what you expect to pay as a buyer. Does this make sense. Feel free to ask me any question is you don't understand or just need more info.

When I was buying my LS having this this information was amazing. Dealer were totally blow away that I new so much.

If you not savvy with excel or just don't have it let me know in what format you wish to see it in and I will try to help you.

There are five tabs on the bottom of the page. One for each year. Just click on the year you want info on.
