dead spark plug wires
My engine has felt rough for a good few months now, and despite the mechanic telling me it's running ok, I didn't really believe him.
The plugs were changed with OEM last year, but the wires were never touched.
So I spent today taking the covers off to test the wires (which had the year of manufacture on them, 1992!!). Tested each wire with a multimeter, and found that 5 wires had a resistance (18 ohms) within tolerance (25 ohms), 3 wires were not showing anything at all. The 3 are probably broken on the inside somewhere.
Gonna get some new wires! OEM or aftermarket performance wires? Any experiences of aftermarket?
Hope this helps others with Gen 1s which might be running on the original wires!

theres some cheaper aftermarket ones, then theres thicker aftermarket ones but they are 250$ + or so, they were the oem wires and for being a 1990 they had to be bad, so i just bought oem lexus wires from the dealer, and after i started and then drove it did feel better and i think a little better pickup? but it was smoother running so take it for what its worth
