Bang in driver rear side over bumps

Broken Spring?
Whenever I drive over a bump, I hear (and feel) a loud bang in the driver rear side of the car. It seems to me like the spring is broken. Do any of you know what it is based on my info? I'm very inexperienced when it comes to suspension/springs but I'm certain that's what the problem is.
