Default dropping off ls for service at local shop

for a tune up and timing service. he is going to use lexus parts from the local dealer and he going to give me them at his price ,which is kool. is there anyting i should let him know or tell him? i did say that lexus uses special atf and coolant. iam going to wait to change my stuts for next itme.

If he's gonna do the tranny and power steering definitely specify what fluids to use. PS is ATF and tranny is Toyota Type IV.

BTW, what price did he quote for the timing belt?

thanks iam gonna write that down, he said drop the car off, and he will give me an estimate. he said it would be way lower than the dealer,, plus he is ase certified and all. i just hope he has a manual or something, if not, iam sure he knows his stuff.

ase certified doesnt mean anything.. I wouldnt count on that... Just be careful.

DoH!!! i guess your right, but if he can word on my compilated *** z, and supras, iam sure he can handle this, well, thats just what iam keep telling my self, lol

where are u located if u are any where near orange county ill hook u up with a mechanic that will do everything cheap at the dealers, about half the price they charge to be exact.

I had mine done at a shop. The owner is my friend's brother. I had a timing belt change and a tune up. I think the timing belt was generic but the spark plugs were platinum and from the dealership. I had it all done for $670. I know his mechanics are competent because the owner owns an LS and he gets it serviced there all the time. They had my car done the same day.
