Question anyone have a repair manual for first gen? starter prob + question

Hey guys
anyone with a repair manual for 1st gen here/ I need to change my starter soon and I was wondering if someone could checkout how bad it is to do it. I know its i nthe engine or some bull liek that but im pretty good mechanically I just wanna make sure i dont get in over my head . SO could someone check it out for me? also if its not TOO bad could someone scan me the pages? WOW im asking for alot here..

EDIT: hang on a second? If it was my starter wouldnt it happen ALL the time? like I would have to crank it a cupl of times before it started everytime I started? Wut happens is when I turn the key ( only in the morning after sitting all nite) it clicks and nothing ...then if i do it 4 times or so itll suddenyl start. It cant be my battery can it? cuz otherwise it would just continue clicking and not start wouldnt it?but then if it was my starter why would it happen only when not started for awhile?

HELP!

Couble be either one, but check the battery first since it is the easier of the two to troubleshoot.

exactly, start with the battery and see if it does anything. I have changed my starter on my 91 LS and labor was $300-400. They need to remove the intake manifold, and most likely replaced all those fuel injector gaskets. Mine came out to $80 worth of gaskets.

i paid 400 for labor and another 100 something for the starter. I suggest changing your egr pipe while you are at it. Because labor is pretty much the same thing. The guy broke my pipe after the starter and I ended up paying the same amount of labor for the egr pipe somewhere else.

the egr pipe itself is around $160. I would order the starter from a local autoshop. Something remanufactered or rebuilt, way cheaper than oem.

Kragen's site for starter

Compared to oem

It's about $100 difference. But the egr is gonna get you, its' around $160 online, so you might as well find it at lexus around your area because its a dealer part only.
