As the topic states, everytime I apply the brakes...no matter how hard or soft the reverse light comes on on my 92 LS. Also...if the brakes are applied and I'm slowing down through approx 60km/h the car downshifts rather roughly. Anyone every have this problem or have any ideas??

could I have a bad ground wire somewhere???

well I found a servered ground wire in the trunk.....hhmmm........going to patch that up. I'll report back

yea that could be the solution to your lights.
as for harsh braking do you feel pulsation in the pedal ? that could be warped rotors. have your pads and rotors checked.

it was the ground wire going into the trunk. All is good now.........wweeeeeee

Glad to hear it was an easy fix. i see far too many cars that have this same problem...that or no brake lights at all.

I too had this problem. When I applied the brakes the orange reverse light would light up and the car would down shift a gear. This really freaked me out. I pulled out the reverse light bulbs and it solved the problem temporarily. I will be looking to fix the ground wire tonight.
