Default H3C to H3 conversion

Me and Lexkost did a conversion for the foglights from H3C to H3. This option allows you to use a bigger wattage bulb instead of the H3C which is difficult and mroe expensive to find.

The H3 bulbs is a perfect fit in the foglight housing

Yes, especially if you have cleared your fogs, H3's are a must. There is a much wider selection of bulbs with H3's, and if you have a clear fog housing, you can use "hyper-white" tints to match your "hyper-white" bulbs/HID's if you have them.

A question Persian:

Are you using "high output" H3 bulbs? I was considering this, but I stuck with the stock 55 watt. I'm worried that they will look too similar to high beams, since they are usually 100 watts, if I remember correctly. If you are using high output bulbs, how does it look, any pics? How's the output? Do they look like high beams? Any tickets? And most importantly, how are your wires holding up?

wires are holding up, no issues.. I am disappointed in the PIAAs... I am using a 110 Watt H3 Piaa bulb for the fogs but they arent the right color for me.. I want a different color with a blueish tint in it.

I'm running the APC for the headlights and they look cool. But I have the Piaas here and plan on selling them once i get the APC H3s. Go with the Piaas if you want a bright white light

ahaa ! good thing this has been posted.
my ls doesnt have the housing present for the fog lights. yes the assembly is there but the metal piece holding the bulb is missing from both sides. And I dont want to invest a buy a whole new headlight assemlby on both sides just to have the fog lamps again.
any suggestions what can be done ? I asked the dealer and they say those metal brackets arent available seperately.

First of all nice work guys .

Second, I just want to say that I tried fitting the H3 bulb into the fogs many months ago, but of course, I realized the wiring was wrong. What I did was to hack up the H3 bulb housing and solder on a new wire with a terminal. I never tried fitting the bulbs back on because I basically messed one of the bulbs up.

Anyway, this looks like a great method, just ground the bulb with another wire....duh! Peter, did you splice into the wiring harness or use some small spade terminals at the ends of the wires?

yea we just took the H3 wire and used spade terminals.. the oringal harness has a red and a white. Red being positive and white being ground. You ground to the screw and the H3 wire goes to the red part of the harness. I used spade connecters to put in the harness
