anyone know how to disable auto steering wheele adj.
Does anyone know if it is possible to disable the automatic steering wheel adjustment (up/down) on the LS400 since it now does not move but just grinds? It appears that the motor has gone out and the Lexus dealer wants approx. $800 to replace. The manual does state to take it to the dealer to be disabled, but they have no clue how to do it.

What year is your LS400? My 92 has an auto button on the steering wheel. If you press it it will toggle between being stationary and doing the auto dance...

His is a 95, no switch.
The only thing you can do is to disassemble the steering wheel and unplug/cut the wires as far as I know.
Don't pull the fuse out because it operates several electrical components.
