The web site, marketing materials and car sticker all say the front side windows are water repellent and indeed there is a big difference. The custom and ultra say the front side windows AND windshield are water repellent.

Lexus replaced my (LS 2004 Ultra) windshield because of scratch and it no longer repells water like it used to. The dealear is telling me Lexus Parts says there are two windshields depending on whether you have a rain sensor or not. That makes no sense since all 04's have the rain sensor. He says all models have water repellent front side and windshield.

Does anyone have any experience that might help back me up.

I am having the same problem. My windshield craked after a rock hit it. They replaced it and now it does not repel water. The Lexus dealer Parts Manager said there is only one windshield for my car (2002 SC430) and it's not water repellent. The salesman I was with when I test drove the car said it does have a water repellent windshield. In fact the windshield I had repelled water. I have a call into Lexus Customer Service. They are supposed to get back to me within 2 business days (tomorrow). Did you ever resolve your issue?

You could get tehm to aply rainx but that would be stupid since that is not what you paid for.
Althought i do love my rain-X ,i never use my wipers anymore and bird poop just falls off the windows now.
