Default New here few questions about 1990 LS400

Hi everyone,

I just got a 1990 LS400 and was wondering if there are certain problems that are common to this year. One thing that is puzzling me is the car when in drive at idle shakes forward as if its getting power and losing it. Its not violent but, shakes the whole car as if u were tapping the gas. It's slightly noticeaboe at speed but doesnt seem to be there at rpms above 2000. Also im getting a flashin o/d light from time to time. It goes away then comes back later. I did a search but found that no one found why its flashing. Any help would be appreciated.. Thanks =)

Just make sure the timing belt has been changed. Maybe a tune up will fix your problem. I suggest also replacing the transmission/engine mounts. You will notice a difference for sure.

thanks!.. Well the engin has smoothed out. It is no longer shaking. My next question is where is the speed sensor located, and can it become loose or is it just in need or replacement... It's why my speedo stops working from time to time and comes back on later.
