Auto change up points ?
Today I was being annoyed by a boy racer in a crappy Chrysler Neon. I decided to leave him behind while entering a freeway.
I booted it at the freeway entrance, and the transmission shifted up from 1st to 2nd at 5,600rpm. However, when changing up from 2nd to 3rd it shifted up bang on the redline at 6,000rpm.
I can only assume that the early upshift from 1st-2nd is due to :
- the traction control, or
- built into the ECU to protect the transmission
Does anyone know the answer ?
*Edit* The traction control was on and the transmission was in power mode.
