Default I can't take it anymore...

Not having my CD Player is now killing me. I thought I would be able to fix the problem but I can't even figure out what the problem is. No volume on my CD Player unless I turn it full blast and then you can barly hear it. However the radio works as normal.

Anyway, I give up but I gotta have my CD Player back. Anybody know where I can just buy one to replace it with. It is a 93 LS Pioneer stock box. I am justing going to replace the whole thing.

Any idea on how much it will run, where I can get one and what year(s) 90-94?? that Pioneer model was used?

Any info would help.

thanks

I have no idea if this will help you, but I know the Nakamichi 12 disc changer is available as "rebuilt" for a little over $500. From what my service writer says there are no "new" disc changers for the older Lexus, only the rebuilt models.

Try eBay and contact your local junk yard, you might be surprised.

PM nextlevelcoupe he might have one laying around. If I'm not mistaken the 95SC also has a 12-disc player that might fit in the first gen LS.......Good Luck!

Yes no help. It is the weirdest thing the radio works fine but CD's are dead. The display works and everything CD is spinning. Just no volume unless you turn it full blast and then you can hardly hear it.

Just check and eBay didn't have any. Guess I will put in a watch for one since they don't appear to be to common on ebay.

Sounds like a loose connection somewhere, or something to do with the amp.

I would investigate a little more before replacing the CD changer itself if it's still playing/switching tracks, etc. I'm guessing it's a connection/amp issue. Perhaps theres a pre-amp somewhere between the changer and the main factory amp that went bad.

Good luck, and keep us posted.

but the radio works fine so the amp should be connected ok. or does only the CD player use the amp?

The preamp has different circuits to handle different inputs (tuner, CD, etc.). The circuit for the CD may be broken, but in this case you wouldn't hear anything. I would check all the connections first.

I'll try that but I never go in my truck so I don't know what would have knocked the loose.

thanks

Spxchrome, check this out. You might have a similar problem. Not saying that your car leaks, but one of these connectors might be the culprit to you loss of volume.
