Default Dealer Accessories for '90-'94 LS400

I would like to install a set of Lexus 4 splash guards and a rear sun shade on my '92 LS400 and was wondering if anyone had these accessories on their 1st gen LS. Also if you could advise where you purchased these items, new or used. Thanks, Four Door.

Someone here mentioned that their car had the rear sunshade option. Do not remember who however. Search the forums.

Default LS400 Accessories

Located a new set of Lexus splash guards for my '92 LS400 at Metro Lexus/Toyota in Victoria, B.C., Canada. Ordered them today and now I'm determined to find a Lexus retractable rear window shade. Any help in locating one would be greatly appreciated. Re the splash guards only about six new sets left in Canada for the '90-92 LS400. If you want a set contact Paul in the parts dept. 250 386-7541 or email <PARTSATMETROLEXUSTOYOTA.COM>. Four Door.

I have a 92 and it has heated seats. It also has the air-suspension, trac, nakamichi sound system w/ 6 disc changer, sunroof and memory seats. I believe it was every option except for the useless phone.
I have not had any trouble with the air suspension, and actually enjoy triping the transmission into the "low" position of the height indicator. It only lowers itself when you hit 87 mph, and then it trips back into "normal" below 75. I only do this when I am in a 70 speed zone. It may be my imagination, but the steering almost feels tighter when in low.
The "sport" setting for the suspension, helps the cornering a bit.
180,000 miles and no trouble
This is one of the most comfortable and reliable cars around.

Default Fully Loaded '93

I often find it frustrating when you are going to purchase a car and are told that it is fully loaded but it is not. With the 1st gen LS400 it can be confusing because this car is so awesome and has so many options. Here is an easy cheat sheet to determine if your LS is "Fully Loaded" with all available options.

Memory seat system
Look for buttons marked 1, 2 and Set by the drivers door handle

Traction control system & Heated seats
Look for a Trac off button and two seat heater buttons marked L and R just below the radio and above the ash tray

Power tilt and slide moonroof
Big hole with a glass cover in the roof

Trunk mounted 6-disk CD changer
Located in the right wall of the trunk. Make sure there is at least one 6-disk magazine included.

Built in cellular phone
In center console, factory unit has a switch marked 1, 2, 3 attached to the left side of the steering wheel

Electronic Air Suspension with ride control
There are 3 rocker switches next to the transmission shifter instead of 1 rocker switch. They are marked Sport/Normal, Height and ECT Pwr/Norm

Nakamichi Premium 280 watt sound system
Look for the Nakamichi name on the radio face.

Note: The first 3 items were popular options and found on most used LS400's. The last 2 were expensive options when new and may be hard to find. Lexus service managers tell me that these options do not affect the excellent reliability of these cars, so if you can find cars with them, don't be afraid to buy them.
Of course, it is up to you to have any prospective car checked out thoroughly by a professional mechanic familiar with that model before you buy it.

My 1991 has the following options:

Memory seat system
Power Telescopic steering wheel
Nakamichi w/ 6-disc changer
Power Moonroof w/ sunshade
Lexus built in cell phone
Remote entry
Gold package
Tan leather trim
Pinstripes

Don't know if the pinstipes was also an option as I have seen many 90-94 LS with and without them. Any one know?

Default 1st Generation LS400 Options/Accessories

You might of seen my earlier post re a couple of accessories for the 1st gen LS400 that were available from the Lesus dealers, factory custom/moulded splash guards and a retractable rear window shade. One item not mentioned so far is the radar detection system front and back. My brothers '93 LS400 has this accessory which was installed by the dealer when the first owner purchased it new. The radar system cost about $1500. I will check with my brother for the name of the mfg. Four Door.

Default Pin Stripes

I'm not sure but I think the pin stripes were a dealer accessory just like the gold emblem kit was. Four Door.

Default Radar Detector

Havn't talked to my brother yet re the front/back radar detector in his '93 LS400 but now that I think of it I'm pretty sure it was made by Whistler.

I have a 92 LS, with the following options:

Leather Interior
Gold Package
Power moonroof
Tilt/telescopic steering
Keyless entry
Car phone
Traction control
heated seats (maybe 92 was first year?)
Pinstripes (well, only half of them are left, lol)

I always wondered why someone bought my car new with the cellphone,
heated seats, and trac control, but no CD player

That is a very nice car. I cannot believe it sold for only $6300. It only has 64K miles. The cloth interior looks odd in this car. I have only seen a couple with cloth seats. It does have the sunroof and remote entry. I wonder if it had any other options? Really does not go into details. It does say "airbags" which is untrue, as it only has a driverside airbag and it says it is a 4.1L and they are 4.0L's. Still a nice car.

I have a two tone white/grey 1990 LS with grey "plush"cloth intierior. it has power tilt, but manuel telescopicing. the saets are power, (forward back recline front lift/lower rear lift/lower)no memory, with a driver only lumbar adjust, none heated. No traction control. side note the recline on the drivers side does not work well it does not recline evenly, the gear that raises and lowers it is stripped.
