my cigerette ligther dosent work on my '91 ls400!! its always been like this and i wasant able to charge any cellpones. i checked the fuses and none of them appeared to be burnt out.

does anyone else have this problem or know how to fix it?

You could always use the rear cigg lighter. That's how I usually charge my phone.

Hi Mastermind,

Someone might have removed the ashtray unit and not plugged in all the connectors behind the faceplate. It is pretty easy to remove the ashtray unit and check. Here are some directions on retrodrive's excellent web site. http://www.cureline.net/lex/audio/ho...io_removal.htm ....just do the first three steps. I usually do not take off the wood trim on top of the shifter mechanism, put the parking brake on, just turn the key to on, but do not start, and put the gear selector in L to move the shifter out of your way (you may have to use the shift interlock button). I use a small flat tip screwdriver with the tip wrapped in masking tape to ease out the ashtray unit one side at a time in small steps. As I recall, there is a plug for the lighter and one for the light in the ashtray.

ga400, i'll give that a try and see what happens, but since the rear one dosent work too what might it be?

yes try taking out the lighter and plugging it in. after a radio shop did work on my car, they left it unplugged and my radar didnt work, had to pull it out and fix it myself.... as for the back, maybe both are unplugged?
