whats your take on "high mileage" motor oils??
iam due for my second oil change. the first one i did at the dealer, so i assume they used regula oil. not sure what the weight is. i have 112000 mile on the car, and was wondering if i should use valvoline maxlife, or castrol high mileage formula. i will be using the oem filter too. how many qt's of oil will it need?? i will buy the supplies, and go to my local oil change station for the labor, which is usually $10
thanks

Use search noob :)
Hello there fellow TT.net member So you were able to register your LS in Cali anyways. Just use Mobil 1 10w30 (5.5quarts), I used it regularly to all the four cars that I own and did not experience oil leaks at all.

the problem is when you started using synthetic on the car... jsut to be safe, stick to standard convetional oil 10w30 if you live in socal, or you could play around with synthetic if you really need it like places in NY, other cold climates

yup was able to register the 400, so now i finally have a "CA" car, but both the z's are still "NJ"!! LOL
i use castrol sytntec in the z, but that cus the motor was rebuilt, and like new. i just dont trust any syn oil in a high mile car. the maxlife oils have special conditioners that help soften up the gaskets and seals.
