Kenny - I don't have the cigarette lighter / power source down below that, like you do. That was a factor for my placement. Plus, I do use my CD/DVD player. It seems like it would block off areas of the HVAC or radio buttons in that position. Which, I think is a negative, because that area is so attractive.

comotiger - I'll check into that vent clip, especially after I upgrade phones. I'm going to purchase a Galaxy S6 Edge because I have a grandfathered unlimited data plan with Verizon wireless. And I kill it every month. I've been known to pull down 60 GB's!

Mine is a 07 so it fits in the space good. I gave a lot of thought into what to try first. I just took a flyer on this for less than $15 and with a little adjusting and modification it worked out well. I'm an avid xm radio fan and don't use the cd slot. Good luck with the other options.

Except it will riun a slot-load CD mechanism.

Maybe yes, probably not. I'm not ever going to use cd's and by the time I sell the car cd's will be like 8 tracks anyway.

Remember, your unit is a DVD player (says so right on the picture), so that's a good option to have. I for one plan to run photo slide shows of family and vacations on my Nav screen after I install the Beatsonic iPhone mirroring/Nav bypass kit (IF-04-EP). Something to enjoy without too much distraction on long "boring" interstate trips out here in the midwest.
