Both of your LS & GS look beautiful. Congrats on such a crazy upgrade! I saw your GS went to over 300,000 miles & i plan on buying my first Lexus soon either 07-09 RX350 or 06-08 GS and POSSIBLY 07-10 ES. My question is after i buy my car what do you suggest i do in terms of getting everything to its best condition? Because like you, i also want to keep the car for a very long time. So any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

Basic care and maintenance will keep most vehicles running for a long time. Lexus vehicles were built to run for a long time and to be very reliable. Have your car thoroughly inspected because any used vehicle as well as a new one can have problems.

Can't believe I missed this thread. Nice LS. White is such a cool color, but it sure can get dirty fast. Seems your radar blocking system would cause more speed stops since their guns register 0. Wouldn't it be fun if they could make the gun show a constant 55! As for your travels, I am very familiar with Tajima machines. I've owned a promotional products company for over 20 years and we do our fair share of embroidery. Everything I do is contract so I send all the apparel to my embroiderer here in Memphis. Great career and great machines. Enjoy that LS!

They can't stop you with a speed showing of 0, can't prove he's speeding

Default Me 2 GS LS upgrade soon

My 02 GS430 is currently at 319K. I was considering moving to a IS350, but decided to stay with the GS for awhile longer. Then my wife said she would like us to have a newer, low mileage, car that would be comfortable for 5 adults. I have a 10 LS430 sport on the way from Texas. Really looking forward to it. At one time I did field work, but am now in the same factory 9 hours a day, 5 days a week. Maybe not everyday, but there are plenty of days, cruising down the road in a Lexus, playing super hero, would be very attractive. I really miss the lack of routine, and feeling of accomplishment that goes with a job like that.

Good lord that's a lot of miles! And you're going to love the 460, best of luck.

Congrats amigo. Please share the link so that we may drool over it. While not certain how many Sport's were made, it certainly was not many. Be ready for much more expensive than average brake pads! Small price to pay. Really happy for you and quite a step up from you're GS.

Thank you! Whatever car you end up getting, either you or a master tech check it out before you purchase it. You never know what it has been through. Then follow the book word for word and you'll get years of great use.

They are great machines and they have kept me in business for the past 20 years. I got at least another 20 years to go!

Pertaining to your question on the laser jammer. It is a must have for road warriors today. I got shot with laser TODAY in GA not paying attention and doing at least 85 mph. I slowed down to 72 and turned the jammers off. He got the reading...... It was a little delayed and not the number he was looking for.

I'll upload the video later from my dash cam showing you just how it went down.

Listening to Howard Stern...... Got a random BS caller on the mobile..... Cruising in the left lane not paying attention to my surroundings and BAM!! LASER ALERT!!! LASER ALERT!!

The cop was on the top of the overpass and I hit the brakes, slowed down and hit the jammer off button when I got to 72. As far as he was concerned, he got a reading but sometimes the gun can fail for a second.

You are so correct and I'd rather see a 0 than a number that could put you in jail depending on speed.

I've been at this job all of my adult life fresh out of college. I know what it feels like to accomplish something each and every day. It makes life a lot easier when you have a job that you are good at and enjoy doing day in and day out! Driving long distances is a must..... The LS is the car for the job!

Lol...

OP, how fast do you typically drive to warrant all this? Just curious. And I get it, I'd have one too were I in your shoes driving all the time. These LSs have very long highway legs and feel better the faster you go. I made it from West LA to Amarillo, TX in 12:30 once. It's a 16 hour drive.

The last two months have gone by fast but I will say one thing, I haven't driven the car nearly as much. I was off for two weeks during the holidays and then the snow came so I drove the Yukon for a week and the car sat for three weeks straight. I was finally able to get some good weather and some great trips so I got in the car and headed out to VA, GA, SC and FL.

It took me two months to almost the day to get to the 45,000 mile service.

I ordered my two Air filters and my cabin filter from a dealer on the forms.

I got two more 5 quart jugs and another filter kit from my dozen ordered and performed the 45k service.

This service took maybe five minutes longer than your average oil change would. This car is really easy to work on....

On with the service....

I have a machine in my shop I'm rebuilding so it became my work bench for the service work:

Put her on the jacks and get to work already.....

While the oil was draining I took the engine cover off to access the two air filters:

I'm not so sure our dealers take the time to really clean these areas out before they put the new filters in. I'll know on my next service.

Much better:

The 45,000 service is complete.

Nothing really new to report on the car..... It's doing its job well and I am now very use to the way it drives. Smooth and quiet.

I do however miss the GS and the ability to take a corner now and then or the effect of torque at any given RPM. I got to thinking a little........ What if I could get into something once in a while that was fun to drive. The wife was on board since it would be her car too so we found the perfect one....

2012 Porsche Panamera 4S (last year N/A V8) with only 4,900 miles on the clock..... I was sold! Such a fun car to drive! Now I finally have the best of both worlds!

We now have four cars:

My son is getting to learn on the wagon and that will be his first car till he gets his feet wet. Safe Safe Safe car! Germans build tanks!

That's all folks. I hope to have the LS up to 50k in the next month. Stay toned for the next update!
