New Lexus Purchase Decision
Hi Guys, I've been off the circuit a while, but always loved the expertise and opinions from everyone before, now I'm back
I'm considering buying a 2011 LS460 prior certified L from dealer or a 2013 GS350 F Sport, BSM, etc, both fully loaded, ML Systems, Both 50K, Both 27K, I rounded the mileage/cost numbers for practical reasons, the LS is Starfire white and the GS is Silver, both excellent condition, etc, etc, Down the line, which in your opinion would you choose and be a better for me, I seldom would drive it except weekends, let me know what you think, I'm ready to pull the plug now thanks in advance

Have you test driven both? Most of the responses in this section are probably going to be biased. I was considering the 3rd gen GS before I realized the 4th gen LS was in my price range. I've never test driven the 3rd gen GS although I had a 2nd gen for about 10 years. Based on what I've read if you want a sportier feel then go for the GS. The LS drives like a land yacht which is the intention. If you need the space you'll have plenty in the LS unless you ride around with NBA small forwards in your car. It really depends on what you're looking for.

Just based on your statement that you would seldom drive it, the GS would be the obvious choice in my opinion.

Thank you, appreciate the insight, I like both vehicles, but I do prefer the bulkiness of the LS compared to the GS, especially when speed racers are rolling up on your bumper on the freeways here in Cali, doing 90 with their head in their phone, ha.

I've had both, I prefer the LS but could understand why somebody would prefer the GS. Really just a personal decision.

I would get the LS.
There aren't many cars that can insulate you from the outside world as much as this one can. You get use to how quiet, plush and smooth it is until you have to drive or ride in someone else's car. Just a friendly reminder how easy it is to take this smooth car for granted sometimes.
Once you experience it, it's hard to drive or ride in anything else.

Regardless of which one you choose you'll still be driving a Lexus. They are both good choices but the LS is the Big Boy wide body full size sedan.

LS...... hands down..... I would even go with an LS430 over any GS..... (but, we are biased...)

The LS430 is just archaic from any tech standpoint, the 2011 460 at least has a somewhat current suite of tech, the GS has basically the latest suite.

I do like the looks of the GS350. I also like the looks of the newer ES350, but they just don't have enough power to be enjoyable. With the GS350 you get the best of both worlds, but if I were to chose I would select a 2013 and up LS460...you'll get the looks, the interior, the comfort, the performance and the reliability. I love my 07 LS460, but I think the 2013 models look better inside and out.
