Default Bad customer sevice from Lexus

Well, earlier this year, the door panels in my 2007 LS460 started getting sticky - everybody that got into the car commented (negatively) on this. I was delighted to learn that Lexus had issued a warranty enhancement to cover this on the 2007s, good through May of 2017. I took the car to my dealer (Johnson Lexus of Durham) and they confirmed that this was the problem that they had seen in other 2007s and said they would order the door panels from Lexus. You can imagine my disbelief when the called me back the next day and said "sorry, your VIN isn't covered by the warranty enhancement" and then suggested I call Lexus myself to see if they would do anything about it (why should I have to call Lexus - isn't that what dealers are for?). Anyway, I got the usual runaround from Lexus culminating in them "respectfully declining" to cover this known fault.

Anyone else been screwed by Lexus on this matter?

I guess I may have missed a thread somewhere. I never heard of sticky door panels. Do you have any link to the Lexus site regarding the warranty on this? I don't have that problem, at least not yet, but I'd like to have a reference just in case.

Rudy and Bill. I've owned 4 Lexus vehicles over the last 25 years but I honestly can't see me buying any more.

Not the wood panel but the soft plastic of the door panels and handles. There are plenty of threads about this issue.

My 08 has the sticky feeling panel as well. In addition, I had a crack on the drivers side door arm rest. I called Lexus and they didn't seem to care. I attempted a repair and it's at least at a point where I hope the crack won't spread. I'd have to say, this is the worst of issues. Otherwise, I enjoy my car every time I sit in the drivers seat.

I don't blame you for being frustrated. The customer service isn't what it used to be...

Yeah, these new interiors sure are crap!

It takes 38 days by hand to make one Shimamoku LS460 steering wheel. No craftsmanship there lol

LOL. RIGHT? Sooo gorgeous. And when I sat in one at the Vancouver International Car Show, I was blown away by the quality.

The quality is simply just there. Seriously, all you have to do is sit in one. Any Lexus really, but when you sit in an LS look and feel around. Its not thrown together. There is even a difference between the $90K+ LX and the LS. Don't get me wrong, the LX is nicely appointed, but in my opinion, its still not quite what an LS is.
After sitting in an LS, take a drive to your neighborhood Chevy dealer, or better yet, Cadillac dealer, and tell me from the moment you go to grad the handle, pull it and swing the door open, you don't sense/feel a difference.
Sit down and close the door and perform the same look/feel around.
There just isn't any comparison.

Well, yes, but the Chevy interior doesn't melt after a few years!

According to a Canadian publication, the interior craftsmanship is on par with a 7 Series BMW. Semi-aniline leather, wood, and machined metal Lexicon speakers,
