Shout out to any CLers affected by Hurricane Matthew
When I heard of all the rains and flooding along the Eastern seaboard due to Hurricane Matthew, especially in North Carolina, I was reminded of a CL member who lost his vehicle to flooding earlier this year. Hope all is well with you, BigWalt, and that you will be back in an LS before too long. Also, to any CLers affected by Hurricane Matthew, my sympathies, and best wishes to you for a safe and quick recovery.

Sad to say that I have to say goodbye to my beloved LS460. Owning this car was such an enjoyable experience. I'm sure that anything I move forward to will not hold a light to this marvelous vehicle.
1 week ago Houston experienced heavy flooding, I unfortunately was unaware the rain would be so substantial. I was woken up by flash flood alerts by my cell phone, by which time the water was already 1/2 way above my tires. Never has it flooded in my area... Guess there is a first time for everything.
This the second Lexus that I lose, the first my LS430 in an accident and now this. Going to move on to something 4x4 or full sized pick up truck perhaps. Sad part is I have a set of 21'' I was having rebuilt, brand new OEM bumpers that were going to paint with lip kit i was planning to order & lastly brand new oem roof moldings... I'll most likely be placing these items for sale.

Insurance lady called, she asked how high the water got and basically told me it was a total loss over the phone. My area was hit so hard they are not even coming out to see them in person if you have pictures. Car wont even unlock, didnt want to try to start it in an effort to not cause my damage to it. Sucks I had just spent 1,100 on new tires and alignment.

Unfortunately floods happen all the time and many of these damaged vehicles will end up back on market. Buyers should beware and cautious when purchasing their next vehicle.
