Default 2017 ls

Sorry if this has already been asked: When does the new 2017 LS come out and what are the changes? Are there any pics out there?

The current LS is in year 11 or 12 (depending on where you're from)

visit the website for more 2017 info:

I would be surprised if they did that, I'd think we would have heard about it already...

Looks like 2017 model is up on the Lexus website. It is a carryover. I can't find the 600hL anywhere so it must've been discontinued or is a special order only now. They are still charging for all the safety tech offered as standard equipment now on the lower models.

600hL was going to be discontinued from what I read.

What safety tech are they charging for that's standard on lower models?

Unless I missed it, blind spot monitoring, HUD are all options in the 2017 GS and ES. However, neither offers DRCC or pre-collision package or Lane Keep Assist even as options. I am not sure what safety systems you are referring to. Interestingly, HUD is not offered on the 2017 LS. Oddly enough, the features did not mention Android Auto or Apple Carplay availability for the 2017 models, which seems very surprising. Did I miss it?

Toyota/Lexus has said they have no plans of ever offering Apple CarPlay or Android Auto.

No HUD because the dash was never designed for it. All new LS will have HUD im sure.

Maybe it's old news to some of you, but THIS is news to me! Beatsonic will have a plug and play Apple CarPlay module for my LS sometime next year. They plan to release one for the 2016+ LS at the beginning of 2017, and for 2014 MY later on. I am holding out for it!

Mmm, will it allow Google Maps to be used? From what I see of the demo, carPlay may be restricted to mostly using Apple's apps. I am so used to Google maps that I have not checked recently whether Apple's Maps app is no longer the disaster it was a few years ago.

It's called Lexus Safety System Plus. It was announced awhile back and was supposed to be standard equipment on all of their models by 2017 but it only made it to a few so far: the 2017 ES, IS, RX, LX, and GS. They revised their press release to say end of 2017 so it's probably going to be standard on all 2018 models.

Sucks they are still charging LS buyers $6500 for mostly the same system.

Not even offered on GX 460 or 4 Runner. Buying a new car without these revolutionary (soon to be standard on every car) safety features is foolish. My buddy's mom leased a low end Subaru and it has these. The Honda Pilot big nav screen shows the blind spot every time the right turn signal is turned on. Automatic panic braking, that's just pure love there. The self driving car revolution is next and it is coming like it or not. It is the next big thing in our lifetime since the internet.
