Hey LS460 forum guys. Tried searching and am sure it's been asked but can't find the answer. How can you tell if looking at an LS 460 exterior that it is for a certain year ? I believe it is perhaps the tail light maybe different and can someone post some pics or give me a link to see what the differences for each model year from 2013 until 2016. Thank you.

13-16 is the same, different front end, hood, and interior than 2007-2012.

As was said before, 2013-2016 are identical outside, and mostly inside.

So, visually, looking at a 2013-2016 you can't tell the model year. Anyone who has let's say a 2013 can just tell there friends that its a 2016 since there's no difference other than checking the VIN. Pretty interesting.

Absolutely. Same as an 07-09 or a 10-12. Most companies don't make exterior changes to their vehicles outside of refreshes, i.e. they don't do it every year.

no way id pay the premium for 2013+. the price difference is huge for the same underbody and drivetrain.

I would drive them both before you determine that. You get a lot of other upgrades with the 2013+, interior is better, infotainment is more modern. The car is stiffer with a little bit smoother and quieter ride, that coupled with the improvements outside (IMHO) are such that I would only consider a 13+.

I drove a 2012 SWB for 8 months before trading up to a 2014 LWB. I definitely like the upgraded interior and infotainment systems of the 2013+. As far as the ride comfort and quietness are concerned, the two cars were very very close. I think the 18 inch wheels on the 2012 helped a lot in this area, and I wonder whether I would get an even quieter ride with 18 inch rather than the standard 19 inch wheels on my 2014. Does anyone have a 2013+ with 18 inch wheels? Maybe my Lexus dealer will let me swap wheels for a trial period....

Mine has the 18s, they're definitely more compliant over bumps. I drove both and affirmatively chose the car with the 18s.

That's awesome. I thought the 19s were standard, so did you have to specially request 18s? I believe you are also riding on Pirelli P7 Cinturatos, so you must have a really soft and quiet ride.

I am so used to seeing 2013+ on 19s that I would love to see yours with 18s. Can you please post a couple of side profile pics? Thanks.

The 18s are standard, but any option packages basically beyond the "premium" package get the 19s, and I think basically all LWB models have the 19s. Mine is very basic, and thats why mine doesn't have the semi-aniline leather or the alcantara headliner because just that option also included the 19s. The 19s definitely look better, but the ride is really nice.

Indeed, the 18s are standard on the 460, and while my 460 drove nicely with my extra set of 19s, on the 18s - between the smaller wheels and air ride - the car floated. On a side note, up until a certain model year (I think 2012, just before the refresh), AWD 460s were only offered with 18s (under standard packages, that is). The 600 was the only AWD LS with 19s from the factory, unless equipped with the Executive Seating Package, in which case it came with... guess... 18s.

Incidentally, the 2013+ standard 18" wheels are - IMHO - so much prettier than those on the 2007-09 cars.

As much as I like my 2011 sport, I can't wait for the right deal to come up on a 2013+ f sport. Will be my next move when they get closer to $40k.
