anyone know if the base non ML system come with a subwoofer in the rear package tray ?

How difficult would it be to add a ML type subwoofer in the package tray along with a small amp to power it ?

the base basic sound system seriously needs some more bass output.

Yes, even the base system has a subwoofer. Obviously the ML system has a better sub and speakers as well as nearly doubling the number of speakers in the cabin.

In your case, adding an ML sub won't change much. You'd be better off adding a separate amp and an aftermarket sub with box or custom mounted somewhere (spare tire wheel well). There are a few members here who have done this. Do a search.

really the base sound system has a sub ? because it sounds like it doesn't have much of a sub.

I used to have a 2007 gs350 with mark levinson and it was good enough for me. but this LS base model low end is very lacking.

Yes. FWIW, Crutchfield sells a direct replacement for the factory location in the center rear parcel shelf.

Yes indeed. The ML system is soooooo much better and powerful.

Probably so if you want deeper bass but the ML system is powerful and one of the best.

The LS base model sound system is terrible! And I'm a huge fan of the car, I say lots of good things about it, but the base stereo is an embarrassment. The first time I heard it I couldn't believe my ears...something was wrong I thought...I can tweak it because the previous owner obviously didn't set it right...wrong!!! I have "tweaked" it as best as I can, it now sounds like garbage, compared to the hot garbage it sounded before. I'd be curious to learn of a reasonable way to make it sound better. The weird thing is that the base system has lots of speakers...isn't it 11? My Honda Accord has four with two little tweeters and it sounds better, much better.

I've listened to the 460 base sound system and I though it was a decent and sounded good until I heard the ML system. I feel like the Cadillac Bose system is lacking compared to the ML system. The ML system is just that good but the bass have been tune down in the newer models.

does the base system come with a 10" cutout as well ? can someone confirm what the cutout size is.

Yeah, the base audio is pretty weak. Actually nowhere near as good as the base audio in my GS...

I want to replace the stock base sub with a stronger power handing sub with power with seperate amp.
