So far so good, had my '12 for over a year hasn't missed a beat. Always rock solid even through the nasty winter. Bought with 17k now I'm up to 34k. However, '10 was the year that air suspension came standard with AWD so that is something to keep in mind. Not saying it will necessarily be a problem, but if it does go it's more expensive to fix. The '11+ did not have AWD and air together, so if you're looking for max reliability I would recommend an '11-12.

You won't need AWD in FL. The RWD with good tires should work very well. Besides, with RWD, you won't have the minor disadvantages of AWD: potentially more repairs, slightly more noise, less power, lower mpg.

As far as reliability of AWD in the LS, I am sure it is among the most reliable in luxury cars. I haven't seen many discussions here about transmission or other problems associated with the AWD cars.

Agreed. I have RWD in Massachusetts as do several others. I got along fine in one of the worst winters in history.

Not sure that the AWD has more noise...

I just assumed that more moving parts would generate more noise. I wonder if the interior noise levels in RWD and AWD cars have been compared.

I've driven both, no difference to my ears.
