Default Carista customization question

I put Carista Pro thru its paces today using the Carista OBD adapter. For my 2014 car, there are lots of customizations that are not even listed in the owner's manual. Importantly, the explanation for various customizations is much clearer on Carista than in the manual. Besides, it is really easy to view options and change in the app, compared to the multiple menus and screens one has to navigate using the mouse in the car. So, I think this app is a great deal!

I ran diagnostics and everything checked out OK . I saw one option in Lights. It's called Advanced Illumination pattern. The default is 1. I don't recall anything in the manual about this. Any ideas?

BTW, the Service menu has not been implemented for the 2014 MY cars. I hope an update is forthcoming.

It may be the way the door handle and dash accent lights work. I saw the trailer for the accent lighting and maybe it has something to do with that.

If there's an alternate pattern I'd be interested in hearing what it is myself.

Good suggestion. I will check it out and report.

I think the advanced illumination is changing the way the light comes on when a door is opened. It can come to full brightness immediately or slowly. Pretty nice feature.

I don't mean to hijack your thread but I didn't want to start a new one seeing as how this one has the same title I would've chosen. There's an option to turn on the ability to close the windows and moon roof with the smart key. I tried to do this yesterday but it didn't work for me. I'm assuming it's the opposite of how you open them. I used the unlock button on the remote to open the windows and moon roof then I tried to use the lock button on the remote to try to close them but it didn't work. I have a 2007 LS460.

I don't think you can close them regardless, because of safety concerns. AFIK, the only way to close them from outside, is with your metal key in the door.

Or hold the lock button on the outside handle and it will close...

That's a better option than removing the door lock cover, which looks ugly by the way without the cover, then removing the key from the fob and inserting and turning. These luxury cars turn you into such a lazy a$$ huh? I was actually telling my wife the other day that this car has made me lazy. I don't have to press any button to get in the car, I don't have to turn on the headlights, I don't have to turn on the wipers, hell, I don't even have to hold the brake pedal anymore.

Or put the E Brake on. Which I LOVE by the way. I also find that these things make me a dangerous driver in other peoples vehicles that dont have these features. I dont know how many times I've lazily backed up in a car and forgot that the car doesnt have proximity sensors and nearly driving into something.

^ I'm with you on that! I try to unlock the door with the handle or start the car with the button...reverse with no camera or sensors. I also love the auto e-brake. neat feature!

only way it works. I just used Carista to activate this feature on my 2011 and the only way to close windows/roof is holding the button on the door.
