Pretty long winded thread with the same arguments stated over and over ..... I interpreted both videos recommending the Yellow Top for modern cars.

I am not in the market for a battery for the LS460 yet but we did go with a Yellow Top in the '92 SC. Why? The SCs are notorious for draining batteries while sitting in the garage and after reading various opinions and testimonials the Yellow Top was selected. Do not really want to have to setup and use trickle chargers (the car is started and driven every 7 to 9 days).

Now a '92 SC has no where near all of the after-the-engine-is-off goodies of the modern cars; so far it reliably starts and runs all the stuff it does have ......

Quite often mine will sit in the garage for 2 weeks. Never a problem. My factory battery is now 5 years old.
I will go ahead and just let the dealer replace it at the next service. For $190.00 installed its not worth me messing with.
I can get an Interstate battery from another shop that is a 72 month for $112.00 and have the hassle of installing and returning the core.
Or dealer installs a 84 month Interstate for $190.00. can't even buy a 84 month one from any other place than the lexus dealer.

My 84 month AC Delco Professional cost me 105 bucks on sale. I've had over two years now and works like a champ. Kinda weird having some Chevy blood in my car. LOL

I also looked at the AC Delco Professional gold for about 110.00. But it only had a 42 month warranty. Where did you find a 84 month?

Maybe we should do a poll to what everyone is running. I have 8800 miles and 3 years on my OEM battery so I'm just guesssinh a change might be in my future.

My guess is you will get another 2 years out of it. I've seen OEM batteries in other cars go 8 years several times. Hard to believe I know.

Our old Jeep Grand Cherokee went 12 years and 130k miles on the original Mopar battery! Amazing. The only reason I replaced is was that some accesories were starting to act up. I probably could've left it in. LOL

I took delivery of my car July 2nd of 2007, and it still has its original battery.

Rest assured it has an 84 month warranty. The 42 months (or one half) of the first 84 months, is FREE replacement. the remaining 42 months is pro-rated.

Sweet! I see you're in MA -- how many miles has it been since then?

I could say how long my original Ford E150 battery lasted, but I don't think that experience applies to the LS-460.
