It's quite sad when LS owners must go to aftermarket products in order to obtain features available on lesser models.

They offer a remote start from the factory. Your LS isn't the latest version lol.

My 2013 GS had a remote start, didn't have the RES+ because it wasn't out yet.

You ask if Lexus reads the site? What would they do? Add a remote start? They already did that two years ago. My 2015 has a remote start and a concierge app.

I will say that it doesn't help when (1) dealer and Lexus staff don't always have a clear and consistent understanding of what is/isn't available, (2) Lexus websites (for customers and dealers alike) don't always show consistent information (FWIW, I've been observing this for the 10+ years I've been with Lexus... terrible integration of Info Systems; Honda was way ahead of them a decade ago) and (3) differences (and the shift) between RES and RES+ have not been adequately explained and marketed, predominantly relying on the nuanced '+', and further exacerbating the confusion for dealers and staff at corporate.

Beyond the OP's valid point, the whole F-sport thing only adds to the frustration, I'm sure, especially when no clear rationale is available (never mind actually explained).
Your 2010 LS 600 how many miles are on it,any major problems so far,how is the ride,im only asking because i was thinking about buying one,2007-2010 I really like the 2007-2010 Mercedes Benz S550 or S600 also, decisions decisions... Thanks in advance...

I have a 2014 L AWD. It drives like a dream. I had a 2012 AWD previously, and that was also a wonderful car to drive. Both were very quiet and powerful vehicles. I haven't driven a S550, so can't provide a comparison. If you are considering a 600hL, its driving dynamics may be a bit different.

Being in NJ, you should be able to test drive a few LSs without too much trouble.

If were talking about the previous generation S550, IMHO the LS rides better.

Have you read the thread? My point is that Lexus makes a RES or RES+ accessory add-on (available from the dealership parts department) for every model Lexus except the LS460. I included a dealership ad showing this. So, in my as every other LS460 owner's case, they have not done so. Now do you understand?

Zero issues at this point other than an intermittent shudder under regenerative braking, something others have reported on. The ride is very quiet and smooth, much like my 460L w/air; it only feels a hair more solid/"planted" on the road.

My car has lived an easy life, though - 14,500 miles.

Have you looked at my signature? I am an LS460 owner and I have a factory remote start app. So it's not "in the case of every LS460 owner".

RES+ was made obsolete when they came out with the Lexus Enform Remote which provides the same functionality. There is a factory remote start kit for the LS460, Lexus just claims that it doesn't work on the F Sport. There are also numerous aftermarket options that actually operate better than the factory remote start, for the same or less cost. The RES+ was sort of a stop gap feature that was replaced with the Enform remote across the lineup.

Car companies don't reverse engineer accessories for older models. If you want that remote app feature for your LS460 you would need to purchase a newer one, or get an aftermarket product (which is what I would do).

Complaining about it on here isn't going to do you any good. Lexus is no longer designing accessories for 2013 model cars. What's out there is what's out there.

With the DBall and my factory remote to start, the engine will shut off when I open the door or trunk. It's a great mod.....especially for hot days and running the AC and cooled seats after a long day at work and a dark uniform lol

On a side note, I've always wondered what the technical reason may be behind the engine shutting off when you open the door. The car is locked, and the key must be detected in order to open it, so I don't quite see why it must shut off, especially once the car "confirms" the presence of the key when the driver sits down.

I'm sure they think it's safer this way. I hate it, and it keeps me from using the remote start as much I would. It even shuts off when you open the trunk.
