PSI in Pirelli Cinturato P7 Plus
I know a lot of folks have gone with the Pirelli Cinturato P7 Plus as I have. I have been running them at 33/34 PSI since I put them on last August and now have around 6,000 miles on them. I have noticed over my last two road trips of 1,000 miles or so each that my MPG has gone down by 2-3 MPG. I have not changed my driving habits. I cruise at 72/73 MPH. Has anyone else who has installed the P7 in the 245/45 19R size noticed a drop in their MPG. Thoughts on bumping the PSI up 35/36? I know that it will make for a little stiffer ride but I am looking at a 1,100 mile one way road trip starting Thursday and would sure like those 2-3 MPG back. I have around 53,5XX miles on the Lexus now.

That might have explained the trip to NE a couple of weeks ago as I am not sure when they make the switch. The 2,200 mile round trip last November to Charlottesville, VA or the trip to NE last fall. I am guessing that was not summer gas?

Dennis - I'm doubting you would see +2/3 mpg by inflating the tires by 3 or 4 psi. But it certainly wouldn't hurt anything to try. That's about the only useless thing I have to add. But I'm very curious about your noticed drop (and anyone else's), keep us posted.
I'm looking at replacing my Maypops with these Cinturato's in June. A couple weekends ago I went back to the ole homestead as my mother was having a surgery (went real well). On the way up, I captured a picture. This is *part of why we love this car soooooo much.
About 80 of the 94 miles on this much of my recent trip was all interstate cruising at 75 mph (76 indicated).

Haven't noticed anything of the sort with mine on the Pirellis. I run mine at 31 cold.

31 PSI cold that is 2 PSI below the called for of 33? Have you noticed any usual ware patterns?

Went with 35 PSI cold. From Thursday at 11 AM until Saturday at 6:30 PM I drove 1900 miles. That was a 400 mile day on Thursday, a 720 mile day on Friday and a 780 mile day on Saturday. I was back up to getting high 27's to mid 28's MPG so was much happier with that. This is the kind of driving these cars are made for. I keep my speed set at 73 MPH which I would say brought me in at 1850/75 rpm's not quite 1900. At 28 MPG you can go a long way between pit stops. The Costco on Manchester in St Louis to the Flying J just outside of Ashland, KY on 17.248 gals. That's 483 miles. I love driving this car.

7milesout, it may sound like a stupid question, how did you get 'after fueling' show on the dashboard?. Mine always show I believe 'ave mpg' or something. Few times I had reset trip A/B miles to calculate mpg but that didn't make the display change any other way. Is there any other setting?.

I always reset everything after fueling so I always start fresh with each tank. I don't recall ever seeing a "after refueling" on the dashboard regarding MPG. As far as I know there are only 2 MPG indications. 1 under the ecco slide bar and then the larger one on the next display.
