Default LS600 infotainment system upgrade

Does anyone know if you can upgrade an entire 2008 LS600hl's infotainment system for let's say a 2010/2011 system at the dealership? Will they do such a thing or am I pretty much stuck with the system it came with? Any and all assistance/thoughts are welcomed and appreciated!
Thanks in advance folks! 😉

I don't believe it can be upgraded.

What options are you looking for in specific.

It CAN be upgraded...anything CAN be done.

The headunit/system for the 2010-2012 is about $14,000. Thats just the parts.

Interesting.

Why the heck is it that much when the option was considerably less?

The parts when purchased retail are always way more than the cost of the options. Why do you think a wheel upgrade that cost $500 the wheels may be $500 each when bought through the dealer. An engine upgrade might cost a couple thousand dollars while a new engine is $20,000 when bought as a part.

The semi-aniline leather and alcantara headliner upgrade on the LS460 is $500, Do you think you can replace all the leather in the car and the entire headliner for $500?

I'd be interested in the Alcantara headliner.

Yeah, it's always cheaper to get what you want as an original option. Extremely cheaper.

The wheels I got: 19 OEM, as an option is $1,000 sticker price for five wheels (that's what it shows). Purchased new after the fact: $2500 for five.

Is there really such a huge difference between infotainment in 2007 - 2009 and 2011 - 2012?

I understand the "major" upgrade came in 2013... which would be impossible to install on a pre-2013 LS anyway.

The big difference is beyond the navigation system. The 2010-2012 system has Enform, you have Bluetooth audio streaming, Pandora, etc. Navigation is pretty much the same...in fact even on a 2016 it's pretty much the same.

Pretty much this.

I had to have 10+ for BT Audio.

I'm of the opinion that, unless a feature is available on a subscription-free basis, it's of little use to the owner who values cost.

This Enform stuff sounds great, but who wants to pay a monthly fee (unless it's included for free as part of your lease).

If there was only a workaround to get "Enform-like" functionality without the monthly subscription fees. Maybe a third party company will look into this sometime.

You don't have to pay a subscription to use the infotainment basis of enform, only the concierge type services. BT audio streaming, the other sources Pandora, etc are free.

Anyways, if I were really cost conscious I wouldn't be driving this car.

In my 2013, the various "apps" like Pandora and Yelp are closed off to me (I don't have a subscription).

Of course, I can stream via Bluetooth Streaming Audio, but I cannot seem to access the Pandora/Yelp interface directly via the car's system.

Am I missing something? Any insight would be appreciated.

Not for another $14,000 on top. I'll save that money for the Hybrid battery

You can get music BT with $150 investment in Vaistech SL3B. Installation is very simple.
