Default Battery

How do I locate and get to the battery on my ls460 to use a trickle charger.Just bought my first Lexus so a bit green.

The battery is against the firewall on the passenger side of the car.

It may be a bit tiring to remove the cover each time you put the charger on the battery. The cover prevents rainwater from entering the engine compartment.

Some battery tenders have leads you can permanently mount and use as a plug instead of continuously clamping them.

Many thanks I have the type you can permanently clip to poles with lead and plug you can leave in place then just connect to charger without removing cover every time.However any advice please on removing cover and clips?

You can use the jumper post. Simple solution.

Is this accessible without removing any covers I presume you attach the positive lead to this post from charger and an earth to other lead?

I don't know of a way to get to the battery without removing all the brads around the plastic cover. Some folks just leave that piece off.

Yeah that's what's clearly written in my owners manual. But then again I have a '14, I don't know about the other years.

Most "battery tenders" come with a quick-connect harness that is designed to be permanently attached to the car battery. It takes much of the risk and hassle out of making the connection.
