Default Help ! All the lights are on.

This morning I had to jump my LS 460, the battery was dead because a light was left on. When I jumped and All of the lights on the dashboard came on. Once the car started they stayed on. Does anyone know why this would have happened and how I can get the lights to turn off ? I put it in park and tried restarting it but to no avail. Has anyone else had this problem /

These cars have lots of computers and these computers like to be powered up in an orderly fashion. Jump-starting is a very unstable power source for initializing the cars electronics and sometimes causes all those lights. It is very difficult to deplete the battery by "leaving a light on" so, you may have a defective battery. You need to disconnect the battery from the car and have it tested, and replaced it if is defective or fully charge if it is not defective. When you connect the new battery, or the fully charged old battery to the car, and start the car, the warning lights will probably not be on.

gaaack!!! hopefully its just the battery. when everything comes on if its an Ls400 it usually means the alternator is about to take a dump.

I highly recommend you stop by a local car parts store like an Autozone. They have the means to test the battery as well as alternator at no charge. They carry excellent batteries and can replace them on the spot.

Also, be sure to read this thread, as it has so pretty vital information on the battery topic.
The comment R Z posted is what made me think of this thread, in particular the statement that jmcraney made as well as Doublebase.
Be aware of how old your battery is and assure that your battery is being tested properly.
Good luck.
