All of your air shocks will need replaced. I purchased my LS600hL with about the same amount of miles and it was very bouncy especially on the highway. Good thing for the warranty I purchased as the cost to replace all the air shocks and components was almost $9,000. My car rides perfect now but if you are feeling any bounce then they will need replaced. I would highly recommend a warranty on this car unless you are okay with spending that much to have the air shocks replaced.

ok things are starting to materialize and line up. looks like im getting this one. the air suspension is a worry down the road but ive never seen it fail on a Ls460 yet.... its a first year model car too. I know the first Ls400s didn't have any kinks. what should I be expecting with this car? im looking at 22k +tax tag and title but im sure I can talk them down a bit since I work here, but I don't need to be making a payment on a car that wont get me to work in the morning. I know lexus has always been 100% ironclad reliable but was 2007 a goofy year?

At the end of the day, try and keep this from being an emotional purchase. good luck.

I also would recommend that you be comfortable having to part with potentially a few thousand dollars for repairs unexpectedly. The 460 is a lot more complex than the older 400s you've had, and 07 was an all new generation and there were some issues with control arms, AMP failures, wind noise issues on some (see jmcraney's posts). None of these things are the end of the world, but they're there.

I would also like to add that, not only can the air suspension on the LS fail, but it can and will at some point. But this isn't an issue that's singular to a Lexus.
As SW15LS pointed out, have a rainy day fund for the car.
Have you taken a look at the Lexus driver site to see how well the car has been maintained?
If I recall, you initially stated that it was in great condition, but later said that the body needed a paint job (appear to have never seen a garage) and it rides a bit "floaty".
Is there a reason you seem to be so hell bent on this car?
I understand its the level below the Exec pckg., but if it hasn't been well maintained, it wont be much of a joy to you if you feel as though you always having to do something to it.
Then again, as much work as you've put into other cars, my rational could be completely wrong.

the car is in excellent condition. it was maintained perfectly and it was a one owner car. I pulled all the service records for it and everything it even needed was delt with. I know its history which is nice. cosmetically its not bad. just some road rash and a few dings and small dents, which they will completely fix and recondition for me. when I get the car its going to have a new brake actuator, new rotors, new control arms, all fluids flushed and changed, and anything else they find that isn't 100%. I have a very important job here and they want to make sure I can get to work everyday. they take very very good care of there employees.
im just very new to the Ls460, and ive been hanging around this area of the site lately getting to know these cars a little better. ive been spending lots of time in them here, getting to know them very well.
I know the Ls400 like the back of my hand and know exactly what to expect with them, but im a baby when it comes to the Ls460s ive had lots of street driving in them working where I work, but only for a few mins here and there, and never for an extended period of time. just need to know what I might potentially face in the future as ill be making payments on this car for almost half a decade.

If they're going to replace all that stuff for you then thats most of the potential pain points...
