Default What's my 2009 AWD LS460 Worth?

I am thinking of selling my car. It's been a great ride, but I am now at 76,000 miles and it just feels like it's time. What is it worth? It's a 2009 LS460 (base, not "L") AWD. I am the original owner and the car has never required paint work and has never been damaged. It has Michelin tires that are only 3000 miles old and the brake pads are new (see my other post about the sensors which will be fixed soon too). On an appearance scale of 1 to 10, I'd give it an 8.5. I am the original owner.

Edmunds shows a private party value of about $24,000. Does this sound right? How easy/hard will it be to sell it on my own. The car has a WARRANTY DIRECT warranty until August of 2017/100,000 miles that is transferable for $50. Yeah, I know most of you don't like non-Lexus warranties, but I had one of these on a Ford Explorer that was fabulous (the vehicle, however, was less than fabulous...hence the great value of the warranty).

What do you all think?

That price is in the ball park based on other ads I have seen since I have been looking.

Cool to see one for sale relatively close to me.

You should post pics!

That sounds in the ballpark to me depending on what cosmetic issues take it from 10 down to 8.5. Maybe a little bit high, but not too much.

Had a dealer offer me $24,335 for my 2009 AWD base with 98,000 miles this week. It is in good shape. new tires. Passed. Decided to keep it for another year.

Was that the REAL number, or was it against a new car that would have been discounted anyway?

Darryll40 I had posted on another thread on the dropping prices of these vehicles here.
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls-...for-460-s.html

With the WarrantyDirect coverage (good), I'd aim for low $20k range especially up in the northeast where AWD is a big plus. I'd try to sell it sooner than later of course =)

OK, it's been years since I sold a car outright. How should I sell it? Used to be, you just put an ad in the local paper and drop the price slowly until sold. Ebay prices seem low/wholesale. What's the best way for an individual like me to sell my 2009 LS?

I'm interested in the answers you get. It has been many years since I've sold a car privately. My last car and my wife's were 1995 Infinitis that we got full use of. I parted out my Q45a for good money and then sold it for salvage. I donated my wife's J30t to the Salvation Army for the charitable donation.

The last car I sold privately was my wife's Saab 900S which I listed in the Boston Globe classifieds. I don't even know if they have the classifieds any more, lol.

But more importantly, what will you be getting if you sell your LS. Another one I hope.

Put it on Craigslist, Autotrader, Cars.com.

Honestly? I would just trade it in or sell it to Carmax. Remember that you likely get a sales tax credit on the new car with a trade in, which negates some of the hit from trade vs sell, selling a car outright yourself is a PITA.

I hate to do it, but if you are looking to get rid of the 612, I'll take it off your hands for $5k but you have to deliver it.

wish i saw your message a day earlier, perhaps we could of made a deal.

just bought a 2009 ls 460 AWD, 65k miles. has been in a slight fender bender, but nothing serious. 23k. i think it was a pretty ok deal. new tires on mine also, less then 3k on these. i would of expected though with no damage but higher miles you will be in the same ball park.

i think you can do a quick sale at 21k, and could wait for the right guy at 24k. somewhere in between you will find the right buyer.

Just bought a 2011 wel about a month or so ago- its a 2011 awd with 59k 1 owner from a dealer good condition not the club Lexus owner condition you would expect the car to be. I paid 29 + tax tags .
I wish I can buy all my cars from clublexus owners because we all love and take care of our cars like nothing else.

Maybe I should keep my car. What type of problems might I expect between, say, 75,000 miles and 120,000 miles?

Control arms, if you haven't done them already...other than that not much.

Your car still has a lot of life left in it. Unless you want a new one, I would keep it.
