Mine is a 2007 with 112,000 miles on it.

So far I've been totally blown away with the vehicle and it's reliability, I had it up on the lift today and it's very rare to see a car that's 8 years old look the way it does. You have to understand that I'm under vehicles all day long...there are few that is as clean as a LS460...just no leaks...clean...looks like it's new. There's something with the way Lexus either makes their gaskets, or binds them to the vehicle. Tight. Just flawless. I had a Hyundai Genesis up the other day - and they look amazingly like an LS underneath - except for a few things....oil leaks, the quality is just so different. It may look like an LS underneath, but it's something far different.

All I've done to mine is change the fluids (all of them...coolant, transmission, rear end, brake, oil). I've changed the plugs, air filters and wiper blades. I've done the brakes and I've replaced the headlight bulbs. I will be replacing the control arms soon with aftermarket parts, but here's the thing....even though I believe they are "bad", I could easily drive another 20k miles in their current condition, but I want the car to continue to feel like new. And the tire pressure sensors need to be replaced. Not bad.

I drive the thing 500-600 miles a week. Every week. It suffers through New England winters. It suffers through transporting my kids all over the universe. And it suffers from my daily trips into parking lots, where I'm sure it's subjected to lots of abuse.

I actually still get compliments on the car daily - today someone stood by it asking questions about it and then walked away shaking his head saying, "savage". Never heard it called that before.

I'm at 106k miles and a few issues fixed. The number and type of issues that I've had are more than I was expecting when I bought my used 2008 LS460 from a friend who maintained it well.

From my experience, my LS460 eats amps for breakfast, munches on brakes and rotors for lunch, devours tires for dinner, and chews on control arms for dessert.

The best thing about owning an LS460 is this forum. The people here really help you solve all these issues for good or for a long time at reasonable prices. While my cost of ownership has been higher than expected, everyone who rides in my LS460 loves the experience of a true luxury car.

Sorry, not much to report. New Valve Springs at 86K and the ELF Recall last year. Front Sonar Sensors are giving errors so I just leave it off. 30 yrs of driving so by this time I know how to park, otherwise I'd need to turn in my man card..

2007 at just over 106k. Radiator replaced last year and had a VSC issue 2 years after purchase which was handled by dealer. Besides that, batteries seem to only last 15-18 months before going out but I get 5 year batteries and its always a free replacement. Still rides as good as the day I got it.

Only 70K miles on my 2008 LS 600hL, but the car will be under CPO (and then extended CPO) warranty until 2020 (up to 125K miles).

It will be fun driving such a high-end luxury car that's nearly 12 years old with 120K miles and STILL UNDER WARRANTY! As others have noted, the LS is an amazingly reliable vehicle for its class, but it was designed to offer such comfort, isolation/etc. that there are parts that will definitely wear out more quickly than an econo-car.

I am sure I'll get a set of control arms all around, ML amp, and other misc things over the next 4+ years.

I have a 2007 LS 460 L with 104K miles. I bought it at 33K miles. I had few things gone wrong mostly covered under extended warranty. But it is in good shape now and hope to drive it few years.

Overall the car has been a pleasure to drive. It is such a smooth ride and is the definition of luxury. I think the 07-13 models look a bit more luxurious than the new generation as well. Car is powerful, reliable, and a joy to drive.

Ive experienced a few of the major problems discussed on this forum.

First was the audio system - had to get the subwoofer replaced ~cost me 900
Second was the brake system - had to get a new brake actuator ~cost me 4000

Lexus Corporate footed the bill for the brake actuator. My complaint to them was that a basic function of the car should not be malfunctioning.even if the car is not under warranty (all of my warning lights were on and the problem would not be fixed until the brake actuator was replaced). They replaced the entire brake actuator @ no cost to me.

Now I am experiencing a heavy pull to the left while driving. I went to Lexus to get new brakes and an alignment and found out its the control arms......! Now I need to have the control arms replaced which will run about ~3300 in parts.

Many of us here are experiencing the control arm failure, my advice to you would be to take it somewhere else and have them put aftermarket parts in it. You'll be able to have someone replace all 8 for around $1,200 bucks, which is'nt that bad considering you are replacing basically your entire front end. I'm probably going to be doing mine this month, I can buy all 8 control arms for $520 bucks (aftermarket). As for them not being OEM Lexus parts...those very same OEM parts have proven they are not very good and I can literally buy 6 sets of control arms, for the price of one set of Lexus genuine control arms (that will fail anyway).

Why isn't there a recall on the control arms? Sounds like design flaw which also impacts tires and brakes.
