Hard to find an L w/o Air in Florida. In riding in both a SWB steel and L air, the steel suspension so nice, I wouldn't seek air as a positive personally, but the longer wheelbase/air in the L (unsure which effects ride the most) is very nice riding too. Planning for the air system replacement is costly, but can always swap out to steel springs by then aftermarket, as many do with other air suspension cars that far outlive the warranty and need new springs anyhow, as the LS easily will.

Hey all - just to revive an older thread, a friend encountered a 13 LS460L with the UL package. From what I've researched, the 13+ LS460 uses the same air suspension as the 07-12 generation and issues remain rare but certainly to be expected. Would that be right?

Suspension problems still showing. Not sure if it’s the same problems as before (2007-2010 control arms ,etc) or something different.

Consumer Reports conducts their surveys amongst members only. It reflects only their opinions and isn't necessarily accurate or THE authority on product history. There are many instances where reviews are in oppositions of the sources. Suggest you pull up Audi A8, MB S class to compare. I agree this this looks pretty good. Older cars do exhibit wear. I'm not defending LS, I'm saying surveys like this are easily misinterpreted.

CR also compares cars against other cars of the same year, so to get a green in suspension it would need to have fewer than average issues with suspension compared to other cars of the same year

Audi A8 didn’t have any data. But it does seem that the newer Audi’s as a whole are doing better than the older ones did at that same age. The s class at least the 2015 has done pretty well with many green circles, in many ways on par with the Lexus LS despite other newer and older years not faring nearly as good as the 2015. But in this latest CR report (same report I showed for the Lexus LS) the 2015 Mercedes s has really fallen.

Getting older, and the better longevity of the Lexus is starting to show itself
